About
A Penang practice focused on the arithmetic of commercial energy invoices.
Origin
EnergiComms Digital grew out of repeated work with facilities and finance teams in northern Malaysia who kept finding that energy invoices did not line up with what meters and load logs suggested. Rather than expand into general consultancy, we stayed on billing audits: reconstructing charges, documenting mismatches, and preparing findings that utility conversations can actually use.
How we approach the work
We treat each statement as a financial document with physical evidence behind it. Usage analytics applications help us see interval patterns when those records exist; financial audit worksheets keep the reconstruction auditable. The conclusions remain human-authored and tied to the specific meters and tariff lines on your account.
People and place
Our office is in George Town at Level 10, 77 Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah. Engagements are led by practitioners who have spent years reading commercial utility statements for factories, hospitality groups, and multi-tenant properties. Site visits for meter-plate verification are routine for Penang and neighbouring industrial corridors; further afield we work from shared document packs and video briefings.
Values in practice
- Evidence before opinion — every flagged line cites a bill field or meter record.
- Proportionate scope — we do not stretch a meter check into a full audit when a focused engagement will do.
- Client ownership of disputes — we prepare the memo; you decide whether and how to raise it with the utility.
- Clear exclusions — efficiency design, legal advocacy, and ongoing monitoring sit outside our offer.
Working with clients
Most relationships begin with two or three recent bills and a short scoping call. We confirm fee and timeline in writing, then deliver a findings memo and briefing. Repeat cycles for the same account are common when seasonal loads change or after major plant commissioning.
