Energy usage billing audit

A full-cycle review of billed kilowatt-hours, maximum demand, and contract rates against your site meter data for selected billing periods.

Who this is for

Commercial and industrial facilities that receive monthly energy statements with demand charges, reactive power line items, or multi-meter accounts. Typical clients are facilities managers, property controllers recovering tenant energy costs, and finance teams who need a second reading of the utility arithmetic before raising a dispute.

What you receive

  • A period-by-period reconstruction of billed kWh and maximum demand against the readings you supply (or that we collect on site).
  • A findings memo naming each mismatch, the invoice line it affects, and the supporting evidence.
  • A short briefing call to walk finance or facilities through the memo before any utility conversation.
  • Optional annex tables suitable for attaching to a utility adjustment request.

What is included

Up to three consecutive billing cycles for a single account, review of the active tariff schedule on the statements, demand and usage line checks, and documentation of meter serials and multipliers you provide. We use financial audit worksheets and usage analytics applications to cross-check interval patterns where interval data exists.

What is excluded

Energy-efficiency retrofit design, procurement of new meters, legal representation in formal disputes, and continuous monitoring subscriptions. If you need only a tariff fit check or a single-meter serial reconciliation, see those focused engagements instead.

How we work

  1. You send recent statements, contract summaries, and meter identifiers.
  2. We confirm scope and fee in writing within two business days.
  3. We rebuild the bill arithmetic and compare it to meter evidence.
  4. You receive the findings memo and a briefing call.
  5. You decide whether to pursue an adjustment with the utility; we can refine the annex if they request clarifications within 30 days of delivery.

Preparation

Gather PDF or paper copies of the last three bills, any tariff notification letters, and photos or registers of meter serial plates. Note commissioning, shutdowns, or temporary loads during the review window — those often explain demand spikes that look like billing errors at first glance.

Constraints

Work depends on complete statement copies. Illegible scans delay the timeline. Multi-account portfolios are scoped as separate engagements or a package quote. Governing law and engagement terms follow our site terms under Malaysian law.

Next step
